receives a Hi-Fi ‘Oscar’! |

While more and more companies produce their products in Asia
and sell them from there to Germany, Kiel’s loudspeaker
manufacturer ELAC does
it exactly the other way round. ELAC produces exquisite German
made loudspeakers that are produced in Kiel and have become
top-selling models
in Japan! The company from Kiel has received a number of
awards that reflect the acceptance of their ‘perfect
sound’ philosophy in Japan. |

Now, the Japanese Hi-Fi magazine STEREO SOUND has presented
the Grand Prix Award 2005, the ‘Oscar’ of Hi-Fi, to
Kiel’s loudspeaker manufacturer ELAC!The
award is regarded as one of the most important prizes in Hi-Fi.
It was awarded to the FS 607 X-JET loudspeaker because of its
outstanding build quality, exceptional technology and design
and phenomenal sound. |

The technical highlight of this excellent loudspeaker is the
X-JET. This unique coaxial midrange-tweeter driver system is
regarded as an exciting innovation in the Hi-Fi world due to
the use of coaxial and coplanar design to approach the ideal
point source driver. |

Rolf Janke, Head of ELAC’s R&D, is proud that the
company from Kiel can maintain its position worldwide due to
this technological edge. ‘We have our own highly specialised
driver production in Kiel which works together very closely
with our R&D’, he explains, ‘this way, we are able to
manufacture cutting edge products for your listening
pleasure.’ |

Last year, ELAC recorded an above-average demand for premium
loudspeakers. Commenting on the sales increase Wolfgang John,
Manager of ELAC said ‘After the run on flat screen
televisions, people are now shifting their focus to high
quality sound to further enhance their home cinema experience.
